Available is a kit for polishing DVD's, CD's, Computer Software Discs and Game Disks.  This is our Medium Size Kit.

Please note, the picture with the drill is for reference only.  The drill is NOT included in the kit.

This kit includes one 1/4 inch quick Flannel Fine Mount buff wheel, a special Small plastic Compound and a Microfiber Towel to clean and inspect the disc.

Please note:  You can purchase cheaper products that do not do the job.  ebay is full of them......  Look at the pictures and I think you will like the outcome.  That is what counts at the end of the day.

I have 50 lbs of "compound" that I purchased from a discount seller.  I asked myself, "how bad could it be?"  Well it is 50 lbs of elephant dung.  That is how bad it can be!  Anyone need 50 lbs of elephant dung?  I still have it......

I purchase my product direct from the manufacturer.  It is quality product and I personally use it, I have a customer that polishes metals for a living that uses this brand.  It is professional grade product.

One of our medium size compound bars will probably polish 100 discs.  This will vary by how you use the product and how scratched up the average disc is.

OK, how does this Disc Restoration System work you ask?

First, you will want a drill that turns 3000 RPM's and has a trigger lock.

Second you will need to mount the drill somehow.  I clamped it down as you can see.  A vise would work.  They make special mounts also.

Third you NEED to use the Wheel from the side that the rotation of the buff wheel is rotating towards the floor.

Forth you need to have the disc clean so that you do not contaminate the buff wheel.

So, now we are ready to start buffing.

Scratch Removal

Apply a SMALL amount of the compound to the wheel turning the drill on and locking the trigger.  I touch the compound to the wheel for about 1 second maximum.

Then bring the disc to the edge of the buffing wheel and apply MEDIUM LIGHT pressure for 2-3 seconds.

Reapply compound, and then polish disc again until scratch/scratches are removed.

Final Polish

Apply a small amount of the compound to the wheel for 1 second max again.

Now use VERY LIGHT pressure to final polish.  I like to use a spiral motion from the center rotating the disc and slowly moving towards the outer part of the disc.  I now will go 5 seconds between reapplication of the compound to the wheel.

If you are seeing scratches from the procedure, you probably are using too much pressure or have a dirty wheel.

I clean with glass cleaner and the Microfiber towel to inspect.

This process generally takes less than 5 minutes unless you have a very damaged disc.

NOTES
Safety First.  Wear eye protection and a dust mask.  Mount your drill in a manner that it will work it's way loose.   Hold the item to be polished firmly and only polish on the side of the wheel that is spinning down towards the floor.

Please practice on a disc that is not extremely valuable or irreplaceable.

We cannot be held responsible for damaged discs.  This procedure does require some skill which takes some practice but it is fairly simple.  Even a caveman can use this product!
