Some history: The Hotel Royal in Bangkok, Siam (now Thailand), opened in 1907 as one of the city's first luxury hotels. It quickly became a popular choice for wealthy travelers and high-ranking government officials. In the 1920s and 1930s, the hotel underwent several renovations and expansions, including the addition of a swimming pool and a new wing with more rooms.

During World War II, the hotel was used as a base for Japanese forces, and it suffered significant damage in bombings during the war. After the war, the hotel was renovated and reopened in 1947. In the following decades, the hotel continued to attract wealthy travelers and prominent political figures, including several royal families.

In the 1990s, the hotel underwent another major renovation, updating its facilities and modernizing the guest rooms. It now operates as the Royal Orchid Sheraton Hotel & Towers, maintaining its reputation as one of Bangkok's most luxurious and iconic hotels.
