This box is a wonderful piece!  There is a note inside, on the back of the lithograph that I wasn't able to translate.  I think it says something about having a good day with your friends?  Or not.  The box is nice and strong, and is just beautiful.  The box, on the inside, has pink satin, and painted pink wood that matches.  The lithograph under the glass is embossed, and has some bright gold accents.  The box on the outside has wonderful braided metal trim.  The box is covered in ... I don't know.  It looks almost like suede?  Maybe very old velvet?  I think it was originally pink, but has faded to a soft rose over time.  The box is really pretty.  The latch is Art Nouveau, made from stamped brass.  The hinge is nice and tight, and is a heavy braid.  The card says "The Holy Family" in Spanish.  The box measures 4" X 5.5" X 2 1/4.

Baby Jesus is made from a heavy, unfired clay, that is beautifully painted.  At least, I think he is unfired.  I am not very good at determining that sort of thing.  He is darling, but missing some fingers and toes.  He has some new-ish ribbon that has been wrapped around him, and glued into place.  He is antique, but the ribbon looks to me to be newer.

There is a small cloth that is embroidered on one end, and finished all around.  There is some tatted edging, and some very tiny cutwork.  It functions as a small sheet for the baby.  There is also some really really old crepe paper that cushions the baby.

Overall the piece is in great condition, with wonderful antique patina.  It displays really well, and won't disappoint.
