A lovely example of a

Soviet Naval Other Ranks

‘Beskozirka’

Winter-issue Boarding Cap

from the

Soviet Navy’s 'Cold War' Pacific Fleet

c.1969-91

A good size (58) cap made from heavily padded, black,

blended-wool fabric, the white-piped cap crown,

(a larger and greater circumference than its war-time cousin),

is shaped by an inner spring.

The long cap tally band in gold Russian Cyrillics

for the Pacific Fleet

(Тихоокеанский флот

has a single gold anchor at the base of each swallow-tail at the back.

The front of the cap  bears carries the metallic & enamelled

M.69 Soviet Red Star

within a wreath cap badge

whilst the inside crown has the manufacturer’s/tailor’s label

within a sewn triangle.

A really cracking example of  a surviving

Cold War, Russian Naval cap..
