This listing is for the full size (1:1 scale) Chachapoyan Fertility Idol. The Golden Idol, to which it is commonly referred as, is a fictitious artifact that appears in the opening sequence of the 1981 film Raiders of the Lost Ark.  It is the first relic that the audience sees Indiana Jones acquire, establishing him as a treasure hunter. The idol's likeness has become iconic in popular culture.  Please Note: Other items shown in the pictures are not included. The display base for the idol is sold separately.

Our sculpture was created with great attention to detail making sure to capture the smallest detail in order to create a screen accurate replica of the original asymmetrical figure that was actually used in the film.  There were a few different versions of this idol created by the production department, however, the other versions of the Golden Idol did not see screen time.  There are several differences between the different sculptures but perhaps the most notable is the shape/expression of the mouth.  The other sculptures have a much more pronounced 'frown'.  So if you have been searching for a replica that looks just like the one in the movie then look no further.  With our Golden Idol you can now own this piece of movie history!  

Our full size Golden Idol is cast in hard resin and treated with a polished gold or antique gold plating.  The full size 1:1 scale idol measures just under 8 inches tall and weighs in at approximately 25oz.  We also offer a half size version of this statue. The 1:2 scale idol measures just over 4 inches tall and weighs in at approximately 7.5oz.  

This listing is for one (1) Golden Idol. These idols are handmade and therefore the appearance may vary slightly from idol to idol and the color may also appear different than pictured depending on your monitor settings. These are handmade and may have slight imperfections in the finish.
