In the series celebrating the 50th anniversary of the first flight of the DC-10, a limited edition model appears in the classic colors of Alitalia. The Italian state carrier had eight examples in service between 1973 and 1986. They complemented the larger Boeing 747 jumbo jets on long-haul routes.
