Early 19th century engraved map with original hand color. There are many variants of this map which are easy to miss or overlook. This version has a bold prominent Mountains of the Moon shown and labelled cutting across the entire middle of the continent, These sit atop an empty interior labelled "Unexplored Region". Inset map lower left of Liberia.

Well preserved, nice looking example with pleasing age patina.
