Here we have a wonderful vintage orange enameled cast iron SKILLET with an assist/help grip, an exterior bottom heat/smoke ring and a removable handle made by CASRON of Japan. [NOTE: The handle is secured with a screw and wing nut, it is attached/removed (only one way) from the rectangular slot, handle in first then screw and nut, hanging hook on end. I will ship with the handle removed for easier packing.]
It measures approx. 9-3/4" in top diameter (add 7/8" for the grip and 6-3/4" for the handle) x 2" side high (deep), can hold up to 2 liquid quarts...to the brim.
It is in good maintained (used) condition with no cracks, wobble or warping. It has not been thoroughly cleaned since acquired and is being offered in "as found" condition currently showing some top rim nicks (by handle area - most likely from utensil tapping) and other minor scuff/rub marks here and there...all of which are not offensive and to be expected with age and use. The orange enamel exterior is complimented with a gray interior which is clean as a whistle and shows a few tiny glaze bubble pops...hardly worth mentioning. This cast iron enameled SKILLET heats evenly, retains the heat, and with consistent care it will last a very long time. The bottom is faintly marked, "CASRON" due to the enameling.
Came from a private home collection of many years, however the exact age is unknown. This item weighs approx. 4-1/2 lbs., add 2-1/2 lbs. or so for the packing box and packing material. I combine shipping when safe and practical for all items purchased.
