ANTIQUE German HIKING LONG Pipe - Handpaintd Porcelain LEGEND OF LORELEY PICTURE - Shipped Priority Mail

PIPES LIKE THIS were COMMON throughout Germany; many were shorter versions.  Other types were frequently used and gifted to soldiers or those serving in the Emergency Services between 1912 - 1918. Made from turned antlers horns & bone, with long hollowed birch wood stem. Tobacco was carried either in a leather tobacco pouch or metal tin for priming the ornate porcelain burner. This one is extra long, and in excellent shape. Depicted is the Loreley, who part of a famous Seafarer's legend - the golden hair maiden's beauty lured sailors to their deaths on the rocky shores.  Note that some of the leather is worn and the rope handle is missing, but eyelets are still intact.  Breaks down into three pieces. Please study pictures to see minimal wear for such an antique.
