Most of us have a brass Okito box.  But if you want to have something different from the rest of the magicians, here's a turned wood Okito box that holds four half dollars.   The instructions include a number of different routines, and most magicians will play around with the myriad possibilities of this versatile close-up classic, and end up creating their own personal routine.    

 I like the "antique" look of the box -- it looks less like a magician's prop (in my opinion) and more like something you might pick up at one of those big import stores, or from a street market while travelling the world.   (I tell my audiences that it is an antique snuff box that belonged to Benjamin Franklin -- then I tip out four of the old Franklin half dollars and do my routine.

Another routine I like to use the box for a penetration effect:  a half dollar is placed in the box, and the box lid replaced on top.  The box is shaken so the spectators can hear the coin inside.   The box is set on top of a cased deck of cards, and when the spectator taps the lid of the box, the coin falls from below the card case, having magically penetrated both the bottom of the box and the deck of cards as well.     Just one very easy routine you will do with this box.

I had these in stock about 10 years ago, but when I sold out, I found they were not being made anymore.   BUT, I just found that they are again in production.  I hope this is a permanent return, but if you want one of these great looking Okito boxes, I suggest you grab one now!
