Very rare antique inkwell from the Grand Hotel (now Grand Hotel Palazzo dei Dogi) in Venice, Italy. The hotel is a 16th century palace. The inkwell is marked Bindri on the bottom, with a gilt gold crest reading Grand Hotel Venise. Has gold gilt and cobalt blue accents. See pics. No chips, cracks or breaks. Very minor wear to the outermost gilt ring. A testament to the former wealth and prestige of our now fallen-on-hard-times city, Butte, Montana. Some incredibly wealthy mining magnate sent his wife on the European Grand Tour, and she came back with this charming souvenir for her benefactor, I suppose. Thanks for supporting our small Montana business!
