This is an antique Mappin & Webb (Shieffield, London) boxed set of 6 forks and 6 knives. The handles are mother of pearl and I believe the metal parts are unmarked silver-plate. The silver-plate is tarnished and I have not tried to clean it, I will leave cleaning to the new owner. One knife has some metal deterioration on the blade. All the pieces are engraved with a grape motif. The mother of pearl has no chips or cracks. The case is worn, but the hinges and latch are in good working order.
The forks measure approximately 6.25 inches in length and the knives are approximately 7.5 inches in length. The box measures approximately 10.75 inches in length by 7.5 inches wide by 2.25 inches high (closed).
