A lovely Art Deco era muff of large and unique form that is made of black ostrich feathers with a black lined interior that appears to be satin. This deaccessioned piece is from the Monterey Historical Society’s archives. MHS collection number tag is attached and corresponding archival paperwork included. The paperwork states it is Victorian but the machine made braided cord and feathers lead me to believe it is possibly late Edwardian but most likely Deco era. This appears to be used infrequently without any signs of daily use. Very good condition for age with nothing major to note, only light surface wear and possibly a few feather lost over time. Please see all photos for condition, measurements are seen on paperwork. This would be an incredible piece to display!
