The Blue Speckled bean is a distinctive variety, traced back to its origins in Mexico, and grown in the Arizona desert by Native Americans for its high protein yield. With long roots that enable the absorption of scarce moisture, it is a highly valued and visually pleasing crop with Mayan heritage. Use in various forms, mainly as dried soup beans or flour, is common.

Sow in spring (after frost) and early summer at 20-40mm deep, 50cm apart. Soak seeds for a few hours. Germination in 5-10 days at 18-28°C.Maturity 60-120 days.
