Eschscholzia californica
California poppies are water-conserving flowers with satiny petals (cream, pink, carmine, yellow, and orange). The plants grow annually and can naturalize and self-sow depending on the environment. They are commonly used for Cottage gardens, container, and edge planting and attract beneficial insects, bees, and butterflies. A well-drained soil and full sun are ideal for growth. In temperate regions, sow in spring or early summer, and sow from winter to early spring in subtropical and tropical regions.
