The RB-250 is the basic standard model of Gibson banjos produced since 1954 and is a popular authentic bluegrass banjo.

It has a light, grainy, bright tone and is a good sounding instrument.

It was produced as Gibson's main model until recently, but the Nashville factory was flooded by the Great Tennessee Flood of 2010, and the production equipment and jigs were damaged, resulting in the banjo itself being discontinued, and even today Gibson banjos are only available as USED.

The instrument in this case is from around 1974, and is already a valuable vintage instrument.

The neck and resonator are mahogany with ebony fingerboard. The head is fiddle shaped with white pearl script logo inlay.

The head is REMO coated and the bridge is a slightly thinner regular one, set in a low, easy-to-play action.

The tailpiece has been replaced.

The hardware is nickel plated and is in clean condition with cloudy plating and some dirt.

Keith tuners are included, and the 1st and 4th string pegs are original and in working order.

There are quite a few buckle scratches on the resonator, but it is quite clean for an instrument of this age.

The 5th string has spikes on the 7th, 8th, and 10th frets.

This is a relatively reasonable standard banjo in the Gibson series, but the quality of the sound rise and deep resonance is comparable to higher-end models.

It is about 1.6mm on the 12th fret, so it is quite low.

The bridge is also set quite thin, so you can change the bridge or adjust the height to your liking to give it a more punchy and powerful feel.

The tone has a beautifully grained tone with a nice rise, and it sounds with the delicacy and crispness typical of a Gibson.

It has a sweet, deep sound typical of mahogany models, which I think is a characteristic of this instrument.

This instrument has a solid volume and can be used as an authentic bluegrass banjo.

It comes with the original hard case of the time, and although it is dirty, it can be used practically and normally.
