ANTIQUE
CHEROOT CUTTER
Very well made and in good,
improving condition
----------
Dates to about 1900, and made by
Brookes & Crookes
Sheffield
----------
A super little CHEROOT cutter with three
more tools -
Piercing spike
Fork
Match striker
BLADE MISSING
----------
The cutter is raised by thumbing back
the centre catch - picture 3. The round
bull`s eye is depressed to cut the end
off the cheroot.
The spike is to make a small hole in
the cheroot, when the cutter would
remove too much.
The little fork is for a lady to stick
into the side of the cheroot to use
as a handle - very superior.
The striker -  self explanatory.
----------
When I bought this piece, last week,
all of the parts were rusty and very
stiff. I have applied a light lubricant
and worked all of the joints. The three
tools are getting to the stage where
they snap into place.
I have removed most of the rust, using
a nylon rotary brush, being very careful
not to damage the scales.
