Guitar Synthesizers Take a New Stage

SY-1000 is the most powerful guitar/bass synthesizer in BOSS / Roland history. With six times the processing power of the SY-300, the custom DSP and newly developed sound engine provide the string-independent processing of the GK pickups that is essential for advanced performance, ultra-fast response, instant tuning changes, sound localization, layering, and much more. The GK pickups bring even more power to the table.

Building a deep, dense sound

The SY-1000's sound is created by assigning synthesizer, modeling guitar, and other types to instrument blocks called INSTs and combining them. The possibilities for sound creation are endless, depending on your ideas. The signals from the 13-pin GK pickups are processed independently for each string, allowing for precise and flexible tone adjustment, mix balance, and tuning for all INSTs. The INSTs can also be blended with the sound of the guitar itself.

Dynamic Synth with outstanding expressiveness

The newly developed Dynamic Synth is a completely new guitar synthesizer unlike any other. The GK input with independent signal processing for each string and ultra-fast DSP faithfully tracks the characteristics of the instrument to produce the most profound synth sound ever. Ten oscillator waveforms to choose from cover a wide range of sounds, including the classic sine, square, and sawtooth waves, as well as Roland's own SUPER SAW. 6 filter and volume controls, 2 LFOs, and 2 step sequencers allow you to explore all the possible timbres. Dynamic Synth is best used with GK pickups for maximum performance, but can also be played with a guitar or bass connected to the GUITAR INPUT.

Two dynamic step sequencers

SY-1000's Dynamic Synth is further enhanced by its two 16-step sequencers. By layering three Dynamic Synths and manipulating the oscillator and step sequencers, three different waveforms of The three Dynamic Synths can be layered, and the oscillator and step sequencer can be manipulated to create a complex layering of three different waveforms of synth sounds to create a dynamic sound.

The huge array of effects and responsive guitar/bass amplifiers allow you to freely create your own sound. The large LCD and intuitive panel layout allow instant editing of INSTs, effects, routing changes, and parallel chain building. Favorite INST and effect settings can be saved in variations for speedy patch creation.

Controls to Match Your Performance Style

In addition to basic operations such as patch switching and bank selection, the SY-1000's eight footswitches can be assigned to any function, allowing the player to control them as desired to suit his or her performance style. In manual mode, the three INSTs and the guitar's pickup sounds can be freely assigned, such as instantly turning them on and off, for intuitive control at your feet. Up to four external footswitches or two expression pedals can be extended to the main unit. The MAIN and SUB OUTPUTS can be used not only as stereo mixed sound outputs, but also as four parallel outputs with dedicated EQs for each output. Practical USB / MIDI Functions

You can also use the SY-1000 to "RE-SYNTH" pre-recorded dry sounds. In addition, the MIDI function can be used to freely control compatible devices. The Guitar/Bass to MIDI function can also be used to play software synths and input MIDI sequences and note information.
