This auction is for the service of tuning the power output if
your radio. I successfully do this with the Yaesu FTM-400 X/DR/DE, FTM-300D,
FTM-100D. I will add to this list as I train and learn on them. You will need
to ship the corresponding radio, head unit and microphone to me and once the
mod is done, I will ship it back to you. When the mod is done, you will have to
set the radio back up again like you did when it was new (enter callsign etc…)
I recommend saving everything to an SD card and keeping it with you so when you
get the radio back you can load everything right back into it.
Power levels tuning-if you do not like the power levels for any
of the 3 preset power levels it came with (lo/mid/hi) I can tune the power
levels to your preferences. This is a great option if are running an amplifier
or anything and worry about overdriving it and causing damage to the accessory.
An example would be if your amp’s max input is 10w but your presets were
4w/17w/45w, I can tune them to what you prefer. Once the tuning it done, I will
add in the return package, photographs of the wattmeter/swr readout of the new
power levels. I can tune the power levels for the FTM-400, FTM-300 and FTM-100.
I will do the repair and send the radio back to you within 1
business day of receiving the radio. I charge a flat rate of $20 for
priority/expedited shipping back to you but you are responsible for the
shipping cost to me. When I pack the radio back up and print the shipping
label, you will automatically get an email with the tracking information so you
can monitor it’s route back to you.
I also perform the following services and if you want any of
them done while I have the radio with me, I will discount the regular price of
that service by 50%:
MARS Cap Mod: This is to open the transmit and receive frequency
range up on your radio for the MARS system use. Normally I charge $40 for this
but if I have the radio here I will discount the price to $20. I can do this
with the FTM-400, FTM-300, FTM-100, FT-3 and FT-5.
Software/Firmware updates. These are not the easiest radios to
update sometimes, and some do not want to mess with, so I can update the
radio’s software/firmware for you so it will be up to date when you get it
back. Normally I charge $40 for this but like the tuning, it will only be $20
if I am already doing a service on your radio.
I work off of a grounded workbench and use only non-metallic
tools when working on a radio to prevent shorting anything and causing damage
to the radio. Upon receipt of any radio I check for any faults or damage and
will report them to the buyer/customer before performing any services to the
radio. I am not responsible for the radio or any damages after it leaves my
hands and on it’s way back to you. Nor am I responsible for what you do with
the radio and it’s use.
