This item is a reproduction of a set of 25 H.Ellis & Co (U.S.A) cards entitled Generals of The Late Civil War originally issued in 1890 and reprinted by Nostalgia Reprints in 1991. This set is only a tiny fraction of the cost of the originals which has a Catalogue Price of well over 2,500 British Pounds. Some of the titles included are as follows. Winfield S.Hancock, Fitzhugh Lee, Joe Johnston, Robert E.Lee, R.S.Ewell, J.A.Early, Ben Hill, Benjamin F.Butler, G.G.Meade, Joe Hooker, U.S,Grant, Kilpatrick, H.W.Halleck. P.G.T.Beauregard, Stonewall Jackson, James Longstreet and many others. The backs contain an advert for Recruit Cigarettes and a ‘Checklist’ for the set.
