In 1961 he released a single under the pseudonym Bosis Novotny with a cover version of the Grand Prix d'Eurovision winner Nous les amoureux, which unfortunately remained unsuccessful. He had his greatest success in 1962 with Arme Kleine Sheila, the German version of Sheila. However, he did not manage a place in the German sales charts with the single. Peter Wegen went on tour in Germany and Austria, including the Teenage Party Tour, together with well-known singer colleagues. He also appeared in the cinema, among others in the films Heimat, deine Lieder (1959) and Der letzte Fußgänger (1960). He did not succeed in a comeback attempt in the mid-60s. Peter Wegen later worked as a cameraman and film producer.
