Circa 600-900 AD

Found in Bethlehem

This cross was found in the hallowed ground of Bethlehem. Dating back to the time of Byzantium. During the Byzantine era devout Christians modeled crosses from bronze as an act of piety and reverence. Here was pay witness to Christ mounted upon the cross. In his most solemn hour he still beholds such a divine and powerful presence. Wearing this pendant bestows upon the wearer the sanctification and benediction of Christ.

This cross was found, and crafted into as pendant by Fayez Barakat, a world renown archeologist and dealer of some of the world’s finest antiquities. Barakat Galleries can be found throughout the world, and some of his finds are displayed in the world’s most respected museums (The Met Gala). This cross comes with the original certificate of authenticity, signed by the president of Barakat “Mirror of All Ages and Cultures” himself: Fayez Barakat.

The piece was purchased from a Barakat Gallery on North Rodeo Drive, in Beverly Hills, California.

The piece weighs an impressive 57 GRAMS. It is mounted in thick, solid 18 Karat Gold. The cross measures 3 1/4 inches tall, by 1 3/4 inches wide. Heavy, gold loop on the back allows for this antiquity to be worn as a pendant if so desired.
