The Preamp MKII is a drive pedal released as part of the "AUTOMATONE" series.

Developed in collaboration with Chris Benson, builder of Benson Amps, one of the most sought-after amp brands of our time. In addition to the sweet, dynamic sound of the original Benson Preamp, it also features multiple clipping diode selections, low-impedance Open/Gated silicon fuzz, pre- and post-parametric midrange controls with adjustable Q, and 10 presets. x3 banks of preset settings. Full-featured EXP pedal/CV/MIDI control is also available. The six motorized faders, the most distinctive feature of the "Auto-Matone" series, automatically and magically jump to the preset value and recall it every time you switch presets.

Automaton + Tone = AUTOMATONE!

The "AUTOMATONE" series is a fusion of the words "Automaton" and "Tone. The six motorized faders, the most distinctive feature of the AUTOMATONE series, follow the faders as you change presets or parameters using the EXP pedal, CV, or MIDI control. No more recalling presets and not knowing what settings they are! This is a new generation pedal that allows you to recall saved presets visually as well as sonically.

Inherits the Benson Preamp sound.

The Preamp MKII offers the same Gain, Treble, and Bass as the Chimera amp, plus a master volume, parametric midrange control, clipping diode selection, and fuzz, giving you a ton of tonal options.

Parametric Midrange Control.

In addition to the EQ of the original Preamp pedal, the Preamp MKII features an active parametric midrange control inherited from Chase Bliss' CONDOR. the MIDS control has a FREQ fader with a range of approximately 150 Hz to 4 kHz. It is adjustable in the bandwidth and has a selectable Q range. The placement of the mid control is selectable Preamp pre/post, allowing sound makeup for any situation.

Selection of clipping diodes and fuzz circuit.

The original Benson Preamp's preamp circuit's clipping diode was transistor-only, but the Preamp MKII offers a choice of Tube Screamer-like symmetrical silicon, plus Centaur-like asymmetrical germanium. An additional, highly musical silicon fuzz circuit, designed by Benson, is also included. Choose between full-on/full-range Open or gated, combined with high-quality EQ and clipping options, and the Preamp MKII's possibilities are endless.

Full support for EXP pedal/CV/MIDI control.

Unlock new sounds on Preamp MKII with the expression pedal. You can control multiple faders simultaneously, as well as individual faders, and set the direction of operation. Each fader has its own control range, so you can, for example, increase the gain while simultaneously turning the volume down slightly. Combined with a wide range of parametric midrange controls, this allows for wah pedal or univibe-like sounds.

It can be controlled not only by an EXP pedal, but also by a 0-5V CV (control voltage) or MIDI control.

10x3 banks of preset settings.

A total of up to 30 presets store all fader settings as well as clipping, Q, fuzz, and EXP pedal settings, giving the Preamp MKII unprecedented possibilities as a drive pedal. You have the flexibility to switch between presets while covering everything from preamps and clean boosts to smooth overdrives, crunches, saturated distortions, half-stopped wahs and univibes + fuzz.

Preset settings within a bank can be grouped together using the JUMP function, allowing you to reach the desired preset quickly.
