Patina (green rust) may develop during use. It is harmless and nontoxic, so you can use it as is, but if you are concerned about its appearance, apply a mixture of vinegar (for household use) and the same amount of salt to the cloth, and rub it directly on the area where patina occurs to polish it off. Then wash and dry well.
Since the attached screws are short, it cannot be attached to gypsum board or thin plywood as it is. If there is no base, you can install it by preparing a gypsum board anchor (recommended product: fischer SX plug 4 x 20) and using it together. (Anchors are not included in the product contents.)
