Your lucky penny comes in a hard wearing plastic case for protection and safe keeping, it is attached by means of a swivel device to prevent entanglement with your keys when in your pocket or handbag. In addition to the 30mm ring for your keys you also receive a 25mm split ring for extra keys (this can be removed)
The coins used in the making of these key rings have been circulated and been in general everyday use so may have small imperfections they have been cleaned and are in general good used condition.
History of the lucky penny:
The reverse of the penny was designed by the English artist Percy Metcalfe. It featured a hen and five chicks and the coin's Irish name. The obverse featured the Irish harp. From 1928 to 1937 the date was split either side of the harp with the name Saorstat Eirenn circling around. From 1938 to 1968 the inscription changed to Eire on the left of the harp and the date on the right.
