Very nice bundle of the Bavarian fairy tale king Ludwig II of Bavaria: Consisting of a certificate of appointment and a personal letter of congratulations on this certificate to his aide-de-camp Karl Theodor von Sauter from 1872! 



1. Congratulatory letter: 


Personal letter from King Ludwig II of Bavaria to his aide-de-camp Karl Theodor von Sauer: 


Foldet bifolium with gilt edges, inscribed in ink on one side: 


"My dear Major von Sauer! On today's naming celebration I send you my warmest and most sincere blessings, which I add to the announcement that yesterday I promoted you to Colonel Lieutenant. See in this a new sign of My gracious attitude and My recognition of your often proven Attachment..."Below is King Ludwig II's original ink signature with the date "Munich, November 4, 1872". Traces of folding, creases, minimally browned. Overall good to very good condition!----Special letter from the king to his aide-de-camp von Sauer, which proves his familiar closeness to the king.

In addition to this letter of congratulations, this bundle also contains the certificate of promotion from Sauter to Lieutenant Colonel mentioned in the letter. This cover is extremely rare!!



2. Appointment certificate:


Promotion certificate of the aide-de-camp of King Ludwig II of Bavaria, Karl Theodor von Sauer, from major to lieutenant colonel.


Folded bifolium with blind embossed seal bearing the King's personal ink signature. Dated Munich, November 3, 1872. One day before the above letter of congratulations on the same matter by Ludwig II.


Condition: traces of folding, creases, slightly browned, minimal tears in the edges. Photos are part of the item description.

Unique, beautifully preserved document from Ludwig II of Bavaria for his close confidante Karl Theodor von Sauer.
