SLOVENIA 5 LIP UNC UNACCEPTED PROPOSAL SPECIAL EDITION 1990 SERIAL B 2015 RARE

 Original banknotes. The Slovenian lipa was the unofficial Slovenian currency, issued in 1989 by the newly established company Lipa Holding from Ljubljana. The idea leader of this project was dr. Bogdan Oblak - Hammurabi, and the company was preparing to issue banknotes worth 1/2 lipa, 1, 2, 5, 10, 20, 50 and 100 lipa. Only one linden banknote was printed, which appeared in circulation in Ljubljana on 31 March 1990. At that time, contracts were concluded with more than 80 companies, including the newspaper company Mladina, which undertook to accept linden trees as an ancillary means of payment. About 35,000 banknotes were issued in one series, which had a gold cover.
