Small Japanese manufactured hatchet often used by Ama or "Sea Woman" famous for being the deepest free divers in the world. Using their ability to gather oysters from the bottom in search or pearls.
Hatchet measures
Total length of just over 7 1/2 inches
with a blade of 4"
the remaining length is given to a small piece of Stag horn and bamboo for an handle.
Hatchet shows heavy use as it should, but is still functional it is currently oiled to inhibit oxidation.
