This is an exceedingly scarce minstrel songbook from the 1860's, "BYRON CHRISTY'S BURNT CORK COMICALITIES" published by Robert M. De Witt in New York. Uncommon with a hand-colored blackface front cover illustration. Circa 1860's - the book is undated, though listings for it are found in books by the same publisher dated 1861, 1864 and 1868 within advertisements for "Popular Song and Joke Books." One advertisement specifically states that "Less than 100 Copies" were printed. A Dartmouth College special collections listing dates this copy as being from 1860. There are ten pages of advertisements at the back, and advertisements on the inside covers.
