Zenith Gouda factory was founded back in 1749 untill 1915 the factory has little production,after 1915 the factory started to grow mainly because of the introduction of a clay pipe.In the twenties they began to produce the famous Gouda pottery (plateel) and in the thirties also delftware.After WW2 production soared and Zenith became one of the largest pottery factories in the city Gouda.A fire in 1980 destroyed a large part of the inventory and finally in 1984 Zenith factory got bankrupted.
