WOOL BENEFITS:

- 100% natural and renewable: In the last year Argentina has produced 42,700 tons of wool. Every year the sheep produce a new layer of wool making this a totally renewable fiber.

  - 100% biodegradable: Wool products are 100% biodegradable, so at the end of their useful life they release their valuable nutrients back to the earth in a few years.

  - Resists stains and odors: Well-washed wool gets minimally dirty, which does not happen with synthetic fibers, which need special treatments. It requires much less care in use than the other fibers.

- Fire resistance: Wool does not deteriorate with heat, it does not burn, its flame goes out. In a fire, the fire advances slowly and its gases are not toxic, as with synthetic fibers.

- Insulating cold / heat: Wool is a natural fiber that protects sheep from cold and excessive heat, this property is maintained in all wool products.

- Soft and elastic: Wool has an exceptional softness to the touch, as well as having the ability to recover its original state after being stretched.

The best-known animal fiber with the longest tradition in the textile industry is wool, which is sheep's hair. Its fiber is obtained through a process called shearing that is carried out once a year. The recently sheared wool is usually very dirty, so it is necessary to wash it to remove the adhering organic remains. Then it is dried on a flat surface or in the open air, and carding is carried out, which consists of stretching the fragments of the sheared wool, carefully separating the fibers by hand without cutting them. The next step is spinning, in which the carded wool fibers are twisted until a thread of the desired thickness is obtained. This wool yarn is collected in a skein and washed again to remove the rest of the residue. Finally, the dyeing is carried out, by cooking with the vegetable product that will give it the color.
