This is
an old collectible Christianity religion embroidered / needlework picture. Says
“Rock of Ages, Cleft for me”.
“Rock
of Ages, cleft for me, let me hide myself in thee.”
So
figuratively, Christ is a solid, immovable, steady, unchanging rock, and
has something to do with being “cleft” or “cleaved” on for me – so there's a
split in the rock that I can hide in.
Exodus
33:21-23:
“As my glorious presence passes by, I will hide you in the crevice of the rock
and cover you with my hand until I have passed by. Then I will remove my hand
and let you see me from behind. But my face will not be seen.”
