In the early 1990s, digital synthesizers were dominated by preset voices, without hands-on control for sound makeup. The JD-800 changed all that in 1991. With its massive control panel and sound palette, the JD-08 brought the world of synthesizers back to its sound-making roots. 64 preset tones from the original JD-800 were included in the JD-08, providing the core of the JD-800's complex, cutting-edge sound. It fully recreates the four-tone structure, 108 waveforms, and two unique multi-effects systems that were at the heart of the JD-800's complex, cutting-edge sound.

Expanded Sound for Modern Styles

The JD-08 inherits the original design of the JD-800 with a number of improvements that take the musical experience to the next level. New patches and 256 memory functions allow you to delve deep into a vast array of controls to create new sounds. The JD-08's polyphony is even richer than the original, and its two-part multi-timbral design will give you even more ideas for creating your own sounds.

Once you have chosen your favorite patches, take advantage of the two-part polyphonic sequencer to input leads, bass lines, chords, etc., and play them in sync with your other instruments. You can also take advantage of the motion recording and arpeggiator to bring your sounds to life.

Ideal interface for synchronized performance with external instruments

The JD-08 has a built-in USB audio/MIDI interface for synchronized performance and recording with a variety of DAWs and external devices. Full-size MIDI can also be used to interface with other MIDI hardware. An EXT CLOCK IN is also included to drive the JD-08's sequencer and arpeggiator with vintage analog instruments or Eurorack systems

Options to suit your application

The compact JD-08 can be easily controlled from a master keyboard or DAW in any location. It operates for long hours on AA batteries and has a built-in speaker for sound monitoring conveniently on the go. The JD-08 can be used with the DK-01 Boutique Dock, which maintains a sleek appearance and offers three tilt angles, or paired with the K-25m Keyboard Unit for a minimalist vintage JD-800 that can be easily taken out and played on the road.
