Stanbroil Lava Rocks will instantly give any fire pit an exotic, yet classy look.

Naturally occurring, these Lava Rocks are formed as volcanic magma rises to the surface, cools and releases gases which gives these rocks their coarse surface. Because they are volcanic, they can withstand extremely high temperatures without sustaining any damage or crumbling.

Our Lava Rocks may be used exclusively in a fireplace or fire pit or may be used as a base or filler for other ornaments such as fire glass or lite stones. We recommend a minimum 2” of lava rock depth for most installations. For example, a 24" diameter fire pit at the recommended 2” of lava rock depth: 24 X 24 X 2 / 24 = 48 lbs.

Rectangular Fire Pit

Width (A) x Fireplace Depth (B) x Rock Depth (C) / 19 = Lava Rock (lbs.)

We recommend a minimum 2” of lava rock depth for most installations. For example, a 30" X 10" fire pit at the recommended 2” of lava rock depth: 30 X 10 X 2 / 19 = 31 lbs.

Square Fire Pit

We recommend a minimum 2” of lava rock depth for most installations. For example, a 20" fire pit at the recommended 2” of lava rock depth: 20 X 20 X 2 / 19 = 42 lbs.

We recommend 2" - 4" of lava rock depth for most fireplaces. For rectangular and square fireplaces, use the same front width as back width.
