Paper cuttings text
Please
note I am clearing out after a lifetime of collecting. I have hoarded paper
cuttings and press from literally 100’s of music artists. From Pop and
progressive to metal through to indie and grunge. All span from the late 1960s
through to 2023. Some artists are of specific tours others over the 7 decades –
some are just one article in a newspaper (Bardot) or music magazine others are
100s of cuttings from adverts and even some promotional templates for adverts
that we were sent during my time working for music magazines. Please look at
the photos because in most cases that is what is sent (in a couple of instances
I have duplicates so may differ slightly – the Australian Doors for
example).
Also I have
lived in (and collected) both in the UK (London, Norfolk and Edinburgh) and
Ireland (Dublin) but also some cuttings are from my years in Australia (Herald
Sun Herald and a few orther newspapers and music mags)
I have
tried to describe as much as possible in detail – but this is not done to make
some – I am a fan having a clear out and just looking to recoup some money for
my time and effort.
Some papers
are and will be folded down to fit into envelopes – mainly because postage is
so expensive so trying to fold down to minimum – but not damaged.
I have been
collecting since the 1970s and have magazines on my favourite artists from
1960s to today. This really is a labour of love not a business !!
I
think its fair to say that if nothing else all of these collections of items
will be (and are) unique. The only chance to own some obscure cuttings and
stories about some of the greatest popular music artists of the 20th and
21st Centuries.
Please note
as well – in some rare cases these items are ‘only’ photocopies – but they are
how the item was sent out by the record label to the music magazine and press
or they are in house print outs of features to be edited before the copy is
sent for final printing.
When posting
I try and package as neatly as possible – some of these are creased and folded
anyway - see photos - and generally I try and use the biggest
envelope possible – but sometimes with big newspaper articles especially have
to fold down to A5 or 3 fold foolscap envelopes.
