This is one of my favorite coin series; the Chinese zodiac depicted using animal skulls, known as the Lunar Skull Series.

This is the second in the series; the 2016 Lunar Monkey/Year of the Monkey. Each coin in the series was backed by a different country, this one being the Republic of Palau. These have been graded PF 70 Ultra Cameo by NGC and they are Early Releases. 

This coin was issued in both BU and Proof finishes. I have recently auctioned and sold the BU version in my store. This is the Proof version and, as there are only 500 Proof coins versus 2,000 BU coins, the finish and limited mintage carries a higher price. Both coins come with a Certificate of Authenticity showing them to be #405 and #407 out of 500. This is also noted in the description on the slab of the coin.
