In 1991, the signature model of Van Halen by MUSICMAN/ERNIE BALL appeared like a bolt of lightning... As the name suggests, this is "Edward Van Halen" (abbreviated as EVH below). Although he had a strong image of Fender shape until then, his sound was more like Les Paul with a thicker tone. This guitar is the result of further pursuit of the sound that he liked and could not compromise on. It was produced as EVH until Mr. Shape signed a contract with PEAVEY in 1996, after which it was renamed AXIS. The design has been further improved since PEAVEY, but the original model before that is still very popular, and is probably also strongly associated with Takahiro Matsumoto, the national guitarist of B'z, who used it in the early stages of his career. This model was made after the name was changed to AXIS. It was made in California, USA, not in Japan.
The asymmetrical neck shape, 41mm nut width, and other unique specs are easy to get used to, and you may feel uncomfortable when you touch other guitars after playing. The light oil finish and flat fingerboard radius are common now, but must have seemed new at the time.
There are some minor scratches, dents, and paint cracks on the elbow. Other than that, it is in good condition and can be used for many years to come. A genuine hard case is included.
