Hizumitas Fuzz/Sustainer

Hizumitas is a dark and musical fuzz effect pedal developed in cooperation with Boris, a Japanese rock band that has established itself in the global music scene, and EQD, a company that keeps the spirit of punk rock in its manufacturing.

The development process dates back to May 2019. Boris joined EQD president and developer JamieStillman's band Relaxer on a five-city EQD live tour in Japan that year. During the tour, Boris guitarist Wata's unique heavy and sustained sound inspired Jamie, and EQD began planning to develop a signature fuzz for Wata.

Wata has been playing vintage Japanese fuzes for many years.

Wata had been using vintage Japanese fuzz for many years, and Jamie owned several of the same effect pedals, but the individual effect pedals of the 70's varied greatly, and the prototype she created sounded far different from the one Wata owned. The fuzz she owned was different from the ones we have examined so far, having a big, enveloping bass, but also a rough mid-high with an edge and a strong sustain. The Hizumitas from EQD is a faithful reproduction of that sound.

Hizumitas is not only a reproduction of Wata's own effects pedal, but it also has a powerful output level and a very effective Tone. The tone can dramatically change the character of the sound, creating a fine-tuned fuzz sound similar to distortion. Of course, the EQD's effects pedals feature low noise and a tour grade finish that can withstand even the most adverse environments.

Power Supply

This product can be used only with a 9V, 2.1mm-diameter, center-minus AC adapter. We do not recommend the use of non-independent or non-transformer type power adapters as they may cause noise. Do not use a power supply that exceeds 9V, as this may cause malfunction.
