These are true wrought iron hinges hand made by a midwestern craftsman in the mid 19th century.  The flats of the hinges are forge welded together and tapered from the barrel to a fine edge.  If you look carefully at the images, you can see the overall of the forge welded joints.

Overall a very nice set with original forge patina in good working condition with very minor surface rust.
