Vintage British Sixpence Guitar Pick Similar to Queen's Brian May

Brian's unique and unusual choice of guitar pick is the British vintage sixpence coin, which is a similar size coin in comparison to the modern one pence, although silver in colour with a serrated edge.

Brian likes to use the sixpence as a guitar pick, as he finds plastic plectrums too flexible.

Brian holds the coin with a very light grip and also uses the coins serrated edge against the strings to produce a rasp effect. The quieter sections of the music is often done by picking the strings with his fingers whilst using the sixpence for the louder sections where more attack is required.

For many of his solo tours, Brian actually had some sixpence sized coins specially minted with his profile and were on sale during the tour.
