Following his honorable service in WWII, Lionel returned home and embarked on a new journey, riding alongside his fellow servicemen in the renowned Do-Do Riders motorcycle club on his Indian motorcycle. This club, exclusively for Armed Forces veterans, symbolized the spirit of camaraderie and adventure shared among those who served.
A Piece of Personal History
After returning from his military service, Lionel purchased this size 42 jacket and kidney belt brand new in Detroit. They were not used during his wartime service but were specifically intended for his post-WWII motorcycle adventures on his beloved Indian Motorcycle.
A Son's Involvement
In the swinging 60s, Lionel's son borrowed this size 42 jacket, but times had changed, and the Do-Do Riders' legacy had faded from memory. To fit in at school, Lionel's son discreetly removed the "Do-Do" part of the patch, stowing it away in one of the jacket's pockets. Years later, this piece of history resurfaced from storage, carrying with it the memory of both father and son.
