Very RARE -  ‘The Imperial Jeweled Egg’ Chess Set - House Of Faberge By Franklin Mint

This piece is spectacular, and extremely hard to find one in this condition with all the chess pieces.

The Imperial Jeweled Egg Chess Set is an original design from the House of Faberge and was exclusively sold as a limited edition by Franklin Mint in 1990, in celebration of the 150th anniversary of Peter Carl Faberge.

Crafted in jeweled and guilloche black enamel with 24K gold accents and numerous black and red cochobans, this is a heirloom piece to last for generations. It stands an impressive 9" tall and weighs almost 3 pounds!

Remove the lid to reveal a beautiful miniature peg chess board set in sterling silver. The egg comes complete with 32 chess pieces plated in silver and gold. These are housed in a lower pull out storage drawer that is lined with velvet.

The King-shaped finial of the egg lifts off to provide a set of tweezers to use in setting up and moving the chess pieces.

This is a stunning piece in excellent condition.

Note: 3 little black cabochon stones appear to be missing from the outside of the egg. This is not easily noticeable and does not detract from the beauty of this piece.
