ARABIA ~ Beautiful Quality Porcelain 3 Qt. Oval COVERED CASSEROLE (Paratiisi) ~ Finland

Description of item...

Here we have a beautiful 2-piece early MCM model hand painted porcelain oval CASSEROLE with side handle grips and a domed LID designed by Birger Kaipiainen for ARABIA of Wartsila, Finland in the "Paratiisi" pattern - displaying a variety of wildly climbing fruits, violets and black currents - in colors of blue, yellow and black on a white background.

It measures approx. 8-3/4" total height with lid (5" pot high) x 9-1/2" long (including both side handles) x 7-1/4" wide, can hold up to 3 quarts...to the brim.

Both pieces are in excellent maintained (barely/hardly used) condition with no chips or cracks or crazing, no damage noted...appearing to have had little or no use. The bottom is marked, "ARABIA ~ WARTSILA FINLAND ~ paratiisi ~ KESTAA KONEPESUN ~TÅL MASKINBISK ~ DISHWHER-PROOF."

Came from a well cared for private home collection of many years, however the exact age is unknown, pattern discontinued, production run started in 1970. This item weighs approx. 4-3/4 lbs., add 3 lbs. or so for the packing box and packing material. I combine shipping when safe and practical for all items purchased. I currently have a matching ARABIA "paratiisi" Storage Jar on auction.
