Product description: | Have you ever seen a person swirling a glass of wine or whiskey in a familiar manner? Swirling" is the gesture of letting the alcohol poured into the glass come into contact with the air to let the aroma of the alcohol stand out. The new cups have a lovely design, utilizing Yamanaka Lacquer Ware's roku-roku technique! The cup is made of thickly hollowed out zelkova wood and structured to rise up with the weight of the wood. The bottom is rounded to create a design that shimmers for a while. The black pattern on the side is a technique called "Murakumo-nuri," which uses soot from Japanese candles. Soot is applied to the lacquer before it hardens, creating a pattern reminiscent of black clouds and flickering flames. Currently, there is only one lacquer craftsman in the mountains who does Murakumo-nuri. In the future, we will continue to train young craftsmen who aspire to become lacquer craftsmen, and at the same time, we will conduct a human resource development project.
