    Instruction Steps

     

    Step 1: Remove the high pressure oil rail following the steps in the service manual.

    Step 2: Using the ball tube removal tool to remove the ball tube retaining nut.

    Step 3: Remove the ball tube and o-ring.

    Step 4: Clean the pocket and opening seat (The seat must be completely free of debris or blemishes to ensure the full expected service lift of the o-ring).

    Step 5: Lubricate the new tube and o-ring with clean engine oil.

    Step 6: Install the o-ring into the o-ring seat in the oil rail.

    Step 7: Install the new ball tube and retaining nut.

    Step 8: Using a torque wrench to tighten the retaining nut to 100 foot pounds.

    Step 9: Using a tool as a centering guide, center the ball tubes in preparation for reinstalling the fuel rail to the engine.

    Step 10: Repeat this process for the remaining ball tubes and o-rings.
