Description:

This roll celebrates Ukraine’s air defenses. Today, Ukraine’s air defenses play an extremely important role in ensuring the security of Ukrainian military and civilian facilities, while also being an essential component of the country’s national security system. Every day since the beginning of the full-scale invasion of Ukraine, the air defense forces – which comprise the anti-aircraft missile troops of the Ukrainian Air Force, Ground Forces and Navy; the aviation capabilities and airspace surveillance units of the Ukrainian Air Force; and other air defense units of Ukraine’s Defense Forces – have faithfully and heroically repelled attacks by enemy missiles and drones. The rolls’ souvenir packaging bears the legend БАНКНОТНО-МОНЕТНИЙ ДВІР НБУ (the NBU’s Banknote Printing and Minting Works), the mint mark of the NBU’s Banknote Printing and Minting Works, the legend /ОБІГОВА ПАМ’ЯТНА МОНЕТА, ППО – /НАДІЙНИЙ ЩИТ/УКРАЇНИ (/circulation commemorative coin, Air Defenses – /Ukraine’s Reliable/ Shield); it also features an image of a Patriot launcher, the rolls’ face value – 250, the graphic symbol of the hryvnia and the legend 25 ШТУК (25 units).

Obverse: above is Ukraine’s small coat of arms; in the center, surrounded by an old Rus ornament is the following semicircular legend: УКРАЇНА/10/ГРИВЕНЬ (Ukraine/10/hryvnias); against the backdrop of the ornament are the coins’ issue year – 2023 (beneath) and the mint mark of the NBU’s Banknote Printing and Minting Works (to the right).

Reverse: there are an image of a Patriot launcher and a stylized image of a radar detecting a target; above is the following circular legend: ППО – НАДІЙНИЙ ЩИТ УКРАЇНИ (Air Defenses – Ukraine’s Reliable Shield).
