this is the ito used by professional . It is made in Japan woven by traditional means specifically for wrapping tsuka.

It will last considerably longer than the cheaper, mass-produced ito;

4m-5m length usually required to wrap a standard hilt (26cm-27cm apprx). 

Generally, you need about 4 meters to complete 1 tsuka, so with a 5 meter length,

you will be able to do 1 tsuka.

Calculating the Length:

The easiest method of calculating the length of Ito you need is to determine how much ito you will need to wrap your handle, take the measurement of the handle in inches then add 4 to that number. That is the number of feet you will need to wrap your handle. So if you have a 12 inch handle you will need 16 feet of ito to wrap it correctly.
