Antique Wood Travel Desk Victorian Laptop Writing English Mahogany Box Secretary

Available is this charming antique travel desk.  It is a Victoria era - cutting edge technology-  Mahogany box with sloped writing area covered in felt.  The box measures just under 18 inches wide by 9.5 deep and about 6 inches tall. The front escutcheon is loose and unknown if original.  The key seems to fit inside but not turn.  There is some chipping to the wood where the toggle holds the desktop in place.  Secondary wood is pine?  The side handles appear original and there is some bone inlay in the top.  The top also shows some scratching and normal wear.  The inside has ink staining, wear to the felt, etc as befits age and use.  Inkwell has damage to the lid and is dated 1903 - not original.  

Overall a great box - lots of uses and a looker!
