HEADLINER ADHESIVE Tensor grip T65 High Temp Contact Spray Can Glue 500ml.
At Reece’s Auto Headlining Repairs, we have been using this brand for a decade now. See our YouTube Channel for more content about Headlining Adhesives and how to use them. Safety data sheets for this product can be found on Google.
We did a trail test on the coverage x1 Can gets you. The results worked out to be 1.5 (x1 and a half cans) required for small sedans. So based on that here below is what we suggest:
1x 500ml Can = UTE OR SUNROOF
2x 500ml Can = SEDAN
2-3x 500ml Can = WAGON
Also consider extra for any Pillars you’d like to do too.
We suggest to spray more than what’s advertised by the manufacturer of this product, our recommended use of this product on headliners is as follows:
FOR MORE DETAILED STEP BY STEP GUIDE, download our course called Headlining Secrets available at www.ReecesAutoHeadliningRepairs.com or watch our FREE YouTube Videos.
1) CLEAN HEADLINER BOARD AND REMOVE ALL OLD GLUE AND FOAM
2) BUY ‘HIGH QUALITY’ FOAM BACKED HEADLINER FABRIC. We sell this, see our other listing.
3) SPRAY GLUE TWICE ON HEADLINER BOARD, overlapping 50% each time, Then once again in high stress areas.
4) SPRAY GLUE TWICE ON BACK OF THE HEADLINER FABRIC, overlapping 50% each time.
5) BRING THE FABRIC TO THE BOARD, feed it to the individual curves/contours on your board.
6) PUSH DOWN ON THE FABRIC TO INSURE GOOD ADHESION, We use offcuts of foam headliner to do this.
Please note: On what we call specialist jobs which are headliners that have high raise sections around front sunglasses consoles, eg: VW Tiguan, and also AUDI oily tacky boards. We recommend the use of 3M High Tac 76 or Permatex Headliner Adhesive on high stress areas around sunglass consoles as these respond better to high tack not fast tack adhesives.
