Jesus appeared after his death and resurrection, before two of his disciples while they were walking on the road to a village called Emmaus, (Gospel of Luke 24:13-35).
As they approach the village, Jesus pretends to continue on, but the disciples urge him to stay with them due to the late hour. While dining together, Jesus takes bread, blesses it, breaks it, and gives it to them. At that moment, their eyes are opened, and they recognize him. Shortly after, he vanishes from their sight.
Filled with excitement, the disciples returned to Jerusalem to share the news with the eleven disciples, recounting how Jesus revealed himself to them during the breaking of bread.
Captures the essence of this biblical moment with this rock gathered at Emmaus's remains site, symbolizing the breaking of bread and the revelation of Jesus after his resurrection.
